# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The combination of three different citrus fruits creates layers of flavor that store-bought smoothies never quite capture.
  • You can throw this together even when youre half-awake, and the vitamin C blast will wake you up faster than coffee ever could.
02 -
  • Never include any of the white pith from citrus fruits or your smoothie will have an unpleasant bitter aftertaste that cant be fixed with sweetener.
  • Freezing banana chunks ahead of time eliminates the need for ice and creates an incredibly silky texture that changed my smoothie game forever.
03 -
  • Roll your citrus fruits firmly on the counter before cutting to break the internal membranes, which releases more juice and makes them easier to blend completely smooth.
  • Adding just a tiny pinch of salt - about 1/8 teaspoon - mysteriously enhances the sweetness of the fruit without tasting salty at all.
